Transforming Queens Road Watford: Enhancing the Town Centre with Tectonix European Granite

The development of Watford Queens Road presented a unique opportunity for Watford Borough Council to revitalise part of the town centre, creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment that would attract visitors and enhance the overall well-being of local residents and shoppers.

Tectonix partnered with Murrill Construction to deliver this prestigious project for Watford Borough Council which would act as a gateway to the Atria Shopping Centre. Tectonix provided a range of durable European Granite paving materials to allign with the project's environmental requirements, designed to have a positive impact on the town centre and meet the project’s tight deadlines.

To achieve the desired look and feel of the area and complement the previous works across the town, Tectonix supplied a blend of three different European granites: Vidmar, Qunita Grey, and Quinta Buff to meet the brief. These stones offered a perfect balance of warmth, subtle veining, and colour variation designed to modernise, refresh and lift the area.

The success of any project relies on meeting tight deadlines and Tectonix demonstrated its ability to meet those demands, with all material landing on-site within twelve weeks of the samples being approved by the client, ensuring that the project stayed on track. This was of particular importance as Queens Road is a busy and vibrant retail area and one of the main thoroughfares to the Atria Shopping Centre.
