MOUNT PLEASANT, LONDON
First Class London living; Tectonix on the Postmark in Farringdon
Client: Taylor Whimpey
Contractor: M Squared
Products: Chinese Granite
Landscape Architect: Tri External
Postmark is a unique development by Taylor Whimpey delivering 680 new homes, over 20,000 sq. ft of commercial space, and a host of new public realm in the heart of Farringdon, London; sharing its location with the iconic Royal Mail sorting office at Mount Pleasant.

The major mixed-use development is part of Taylor Whimpey's exclusive Capital Collection and is inspired by the rich heritage of this iconic landmark. The exterior development combines a mix of resident and public areas, including a courtyard, a shaded terrace, as well as shops, and open landscaped spaces. With a mix of the traditional and the cutting-edge, this is fast becoming one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods with half the site dedicated to open space to benefit not only residents but the wider community.
Tectonix was delighted to be introduced to the scheme by Tri External Landscape Design, to provide a set range of Granite materials including Steps, Paving, Kerbs, and Setts to compliment the landscape design. Working alongside M Squared against tight deadlines, Tectonix delivered a suite of bespoke materials to hit the brief on time and on budget.

The main paved walkways include a selection of our Trino granite in various sizes flanked by Zilliang granite kerbs. The courtyard delivers a striking pattern using cropped Trino setts with planters and steps clad in a mixture of Mawar and Trino granite.

Director & Co-founder of Tectonix Dave Stanger said: “We are honoured to have played a part in continuing the fascinating history of this iconic site, while also providing much-needed usable space for residents and communities in the heart of London. The design by Tri External and craftsmanship by M Squared help showcase the versatility and durability of our natural stone, which we hope in turn will continue to inspire future generations."
