Just down the road from Tectonix HQ, I grew up in Morley, Leeds. If I'm honest, I always knew that an academic route wasn't for me. I was keen to get into the world of work, become independent and start building a career, even though I wasn't entirely sure what that career would look like.

At sixteen, I chose a Business Administration Apprenticeship with a national housebuilder rather than college. Within six months, I was invited to join the Sales Team as a Trainee Marketing Coordinator, a role that gave me my first real insight into the construction industry and one that I would go on to develop over the next eight years.

Construction has always interested me. Growing up, I watched my dad work as a tradesman and throughout my career loved seeing how a blank piece of land could be transformed into a brand new community..

Joining Tectonix and moving into the natural stone sector felt like a big shift (maybe even a tectonic shift...), but also in some ways a natural progression. I still get the same satisfaction from seeing spaces transformed, whether that's a public square, streetscape or landscape project, just in a more specialised way.

My background has given me a strong understanding of how construction projects come together and the importance of communication, organisation and attention to detail. I pick things up quickly and notice the small details that can make a real difference. Having seen both the frustrations that delays and poor communication can cause and the strong relationships that can be built when things are done well, I always try to be proactive, responsive and focused on helping projects run smoothly.

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active and spend most evenings in the gym. I love travelling and a good holiday, exploring new places and meeting new people. I'm also no stranger to a good night out and you'll often find me on the dancefloor. I'm a big believer in making the most of every opportunity and living life to the fullest.

I’m highly motivated at the chance to keep growing, whether that's learning a new skill, improving on something I did yesterday or something simple like helping someone else have a better day.

Anyone who works with me will probably discover that I have a very dry sense of humour and a healthy amount of sarcasm, but they'll also find someone who genuinely cares and will always go above and beyond to help.

One thing I firmly believe is that everything happens for a reason. Even the unexpected moments often have a way of leading you exactly where you're supposed to be.
