BANK OF ENGLAND, LONDON
Products:Â Haslingden Blue, European Granite
Contractor:Â FM Conway
Client:Â City of London Corporation
Tectonix proudly contributed to the recent refurbishment of the streetscape outside the historic Bank of England building on Threadneedle Street, located in the heart of London's financial district. Our role involved supplying a sophisticated blend of granite from Europe to create a distinctive three-colour mix, alongside our Haslingden Blue Yorkstone setts. The project, designed and commissioned by The City of London Corporation, was skilfully installed by FM Conway.

The Bank of England, established in 1694, is a cornerstone of London's financial heritage. The building itself, a marvel of neoclassical architecture, has undergone numerous expansions and renovations over the years. This latest refurbishment aims to modernise the surrounding roadways while respecting the historic fabric of the area and the use of natural stone was essential to maintain and complement the area's classical aesthetic.
The chosen blend of European granites Dunas, Estrada, and Vidmar provided by Tectonix brought a contemporary touch to the roadways, with the diverse colour palette enhancing the visual appeal. Our Haslingden Blue Yorkstone setts, laid in a striking herringbone pattern, added a layer of sophistication and historical continuity, perfectly in keeping with the existing paving and architectural elements.

"Collaborating with the City of London Corporation and FM Conway on a project of such prestige and historical significance was both an honour and a challenge for Tectonix. There were many hurdles to overcome but we are absolutely delighted to play a small part in enhancing the surroundings of this iconic British landmark whilst preserving its timeless elegance," said Dave Stanger, co-founder of Tectonix.

Through careful planning and expert execution, Tectonix helped transform the roadways surrounding the Bank of England, blending modern aesthetics with historical elegance and further enhancing one of London's busiest and most iconic roadways.
